Mobile Commercial Manager - entry level role

£28,000 - £38,000 basic, plus 10% annual bonus and competitive benefits

Location: Flexible base to suit candidate, although you must be prepared to spend a minimum of 2 days per week in Hammersmith, therefore some travel required weekly.

The successful candidate will be supporting the Senior Commercial Manager, working with the Mobile marketing, channels and technical teams to ensure that all activities required in delivering the SIM Go-To Market mobile campaign are completed in-line with the plan. This person will have specific responsibility for supporting the planning and delivery of campaign activity to ensure maximum efficiency and best practise customer experience.

We are not looking for a marketing or commercial guru with lots of experience in either of these fields, we are seeking an individual who may be about to graduate with a business or related degree, or someone who may have just finished a graduate rotation scheme. Equally you may also be working within telecommunications in a customer experience related role or in a customer contact/project function and are looking for a change? Whatever your current role, you will be looking for a new challenge. This is an entry level role to our mobile commercial team.

Essentially you will be able to demonstrate your ability to get things done and on time. You will have experience of working with a variety of stakeholders and will understand the challenges of pulling together different teams of people to make things happen on time and within a deadline. You will be a confident communicator with superb organisational skills and a passion for organising and driving projects through. MS Excel is essential for this role, although not necessarily to an advanced level, we can help you develop that part over time!

The ideal individual will have some commercial awareness or experience. We are looking for you to demonstrate an understanding of how profitability is calculated, revenue and margins, for example. Are you interested in how Virgin Media calculates our tariffs, minutes and data propositions for our customers? How we build our new products and how we market these? If you are, then this is a great place to start and time to put that business degree to work! But don’t take our word for it, ask the senior commercial manager you will be supporting, who has just been promoted after a year himself, making way for a new ambitious and driven individual to fill his seat. The opportunity for career development in this role is very strong.

Virgin Media is delivering the biggest investment in the UK’s digital infrastructure for over a decade, with a £3bn programme to extend our ultrafast broadband network and brilliant Virgin TV to 17 million homes and businesses. We’re challenging our competitors with the best services and the fastest speeds.
