Data Services National Manager
We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Data Services Manager to join Virgin Media Business as part of a National team . This wide-ranging role will cover all managerial and operational aspects across the Data Service regional community, including project deployment, fault resolution, professional services applications and cost management, along with leading and motivating an operational team responsible for Data Services.
You’ll regularly review operational reports to identify areas for improvement – implementing solutions including performance improvement plans. You’ll effectively plan and implement preventative maintenance activities to improve and maximise service availability, whilst being responsible for the acceptance of new products, technology developments and services plus upgrades - ensuring they comply with engineering and operational guidelines/specifications.
A major aspect of this role will be to provide first line management of your team, allocating work and monitoring their progress and performance. You’ll deliver effective performance management through regular advisor coaching sessions on an individual and team basis, conducting regular performance reviews with colleagues and ensuring on-going team and individual development.
So what are we looking for?
- Previous management experience of leading operational teams, with a proven ability to develop a team and yourself.
- An understanding of the communications industry
- Astute relationship management skills - the ability to work with key stakeholders, delivering change through agreement and to influence others in a challenging environment
- Experience operating in a customer centric environment and excellent people management skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution
- An objective, analytical approach to problem solving, with a proven ability to identify, prioritise & delegate tasks as appropriate
