Job Title: Oracle DBA
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000
What is the job?
The Oracle DBA will join the Finance Systems Centre of Excellence based in the Bradford Office. As the DBA you will be besponsible for the day-to-day support and operations of the Oracle 12c databases underpin the Oracle EPM Applications and assist in the day-to-day support and operations of the Oracle databases which underpin the Oracle EBS Applications.
What will you be doing?
The role of an Oracle DBA is quite varied and in it you will monitor and support the PROD, UAT, DR and Development environments and process requests and enact changes to respective databases.
You will ensure the availability and performance of databases supported by the team to make sure services are secure with minimal downtime as well as resolve live incidents and continuous service improvements.
You will be responsible for aid setting up of new environments for testing, development and production and provide proactive monitoring of database system, also provide system health checks as required.
Finally you will assist with capacity planning and monitoring storage and resources refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes and provide out of hours DBA support as and when required, technical support for database related issues and rolling out fixes plus preventative maintenance/patching
Are you right for the role?
To be right for this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong Oracle 11g/12c Database Administration experience
- Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven track record providing production support including monitoring and tuning to provide a high availability service
- Experience of installing and troubleshooting Oracle Dataguard
- Experience of working with Oracle Database Appliances (ODA)
- Experience of Shell or other Scripting to perform administration tasks
- Oracle Certification, preferably OCP
