What does an Apprenticeship involve?

Your apprenticeship is made up of learning and experience. In a nutshell, an apprenticeship is a structured learning programme, where you’ll be applying skills learned into your day-to-day role.

The learning programme is made up of a suite of modules and milestones and you’ll be required to evidence your work against these modules via tasks and assignments. For some apprenticeships, you may also undertake additional technical qualifications, which include studying for, and taking an exam.

Once you have completed your modules and milestones, you’ll then move to your End Point Assessment (EPA) which is typically made up of an interview and a project, this will vary by apprenticeship. For some apprenticeships, you may also undertake additional technical qualifications, which include studying for, and taking an exam.

Once you pass this stage, you will receive your apprenticeship qualification with us.

Let’s break it down into the stages involved:

Induction

01

Designed to set you up for success from the very beginning, the induction is important to make sure you understand your programme and what is expected of you. The induction will include an introduction to your learning plan, which provides vital information you will need to progress throughout your programme.

On Programme

02

Your programme will align to a nationally recognised Apprenticeship Standard. To successfully complete this you must demonstrate that you have mastered the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of you and outlined in the Standard.

You will learn through a blend of online learning resources, webinars, 1-2-1 coaching and face-to-face tutorials. Apprentices spend at 6 hours each week studying towards their qualification.

You will focus on studying the knowledge modules within your programme. You need to apply this knowledge in the workplace, whilst developing and demonstrating the skills and behaviours considered essential in your role.

You’ll have help keeping on track with clear milestones for you to follow (from sitting exams to completing assignments or tasks set by your coach/tutor). The programme is broken own into individual modules, which you work through in a structured way. Each module has a study section, an assessment point and a completion deadline.
