Control the cogs of Virgin Media
Based from either our Reading or Birmingham office, you’re going to be part of the go-to team for getting things done in Virgin Media. With the project management skills you build over the duration of the programme, you’ll make it possible to do a whole host of things.
Project Manager Apprentices are an essential part in growing the Virgin Media network. With opportunities in a number of our teams, there’s a chance to be involved in a range of projects and opportunities. Here’s what you could be doing –
- Be responsible for new business development through third-party technologies. Work with a variety of stakeholders, whether they’re developers, planners or contract partners, in order to keep all our projects on track!
- Support new business opportunities within our vehicle charging division, Liberty Charge, and help keep Britain on the move
- Manage project schedules or support custom projects within different business areas, gaining exposure to the operational side of project management.
- Help us to improve Virgin Media processes and networks from within our Enablement function
What we look for
A can-do attitude is important. Being super organised and incredibly detail-focused will also help to succeed, as will excellent influencing, communication and people skills. We want to meet candidates who are committed to developing themselves and their future. There will be opportunities to work from home however, apprentices are encouraged to have regular collaborative time in the office with the support of their team.
We’re 100% committed to having a workforce that represents every part of our society, so we’re keen to hear from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances. The only barrier to applying would be if you didn’t have the right to work in the UK and were unable to obtain it without our support.
What is involved with studying for an apprenticeship?
Your apprenticeship is made up of learning on the job, but also gaining the academic skills to put into practice in your day-to-day job. As a result, you’ll complete the apprenticeship as part of a structured learning programme alongside working in the role. The learning programme is made up of a suite of modules and milestones and you’ll be required to evidence your work against these modules via tasks and assignments. For some apprenticeships, you may also undertake additional technical qualifications, which include studying for, and taking an exam. Once you have completed your modules and milestones, you’ll then move to your End Point Assessment (EPA) which is typically made up of an interview and a project. Once you pass this stage, you will receive your apprenticeship qualification with us.
What’s in it for you
During the programme, you’ll work towards a Project Management Level 4 Apprenticeship, which is secured with a final assessment, as well as the association of project management qualification (APM PMQ). With a starting salary of £20,000, as you add plenty of capabilities and skills to your locker, you’ll have the chance to progress through our business. Once you complete the final assessment and secure your apprenticeship qualification, you could earn a salary ranging from £25,500 to £32,000. You’ll also be able to enjoy some amazing benefits, including:
- Company pension
- 25 days holiday
