Join our Network, Strategy and Engineering team as an apprentice and get stuck in with a true problem-solving role. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of projects, all making changes to our live network to increase efficiency. By the end of the programme, you’ll have all the skills vital to roll off as a qualified Network Project Delivery Manager!
Build skills for the future
Our Major Programmes teams are responsible for delivering projects, such as implementing the next-generation capabilities of open radio network access or even replacing the entire corporate network for our business. This role is all about connecting people, you’ll learn all about the technology that allows us to do that virtually, working with technical and non-technical team members. We use the RAID Project Management technique- risk, assumption, issues, and dependencies – to deliver projects on time and within budget. You’ll get to learn and understand this technique in-depth while handling the RAID register for other team members. Day-to-day, you could be:
- Working collaboratively with Project Manager partners to deliver multiple projects across areas of Major Programmes
- Identifying risks and issues that may affect projects and recording these on the Risk & Issue report
- Reporting and governing all works in progress for management
- Maintaining progress trackers across projects to provide successful project management and reporting
What we look for
This role offers hybrid working however, you will need to be office based when joining us in order to learn the ropes. You will be required to take the initiative and influence those around you to drive projects to success. Occasionally, to complete projects, you’ll need to work overnight however, you won’t be asked to do this within the first 12 months of the role. Other qualities we’d like to see include:

What is involved with studying for an apprenticeship?
Your apprenticeship is made up of learning on the job, but also gaining the academic skills to put into practice in your day-to-day job. As a result, you’ll complete the apprenticeship as part of a structured learning programme alongside working in the role. The learning programme is made up of a suite of modules and milestones and you’ll be required to evidence your work against these modules via tasks and assignments. For some apprenticeships, you may also undertake additional technical qualifications, which include studying for, and taking an exam. Once you have completed your modules and milestones, you’ll then move to your End Point Assessment (EPA) which is typically made up of an interview and a project. Once you pass this stage, you will receive your apprenticeship qualification with us.
Apprenticeship: Level 4 Project Management
Duration: 18 months
Start Date: January 2023
Requirements: 5 GCSES Level 9-4 including Maths and English, or a Level 2 Apprenticeship or equivalent.
Salary: Starting salary of £20,000, with an increase to £23,000 after 12 months, and salaries from £26,000 + amazing benefits
