Who are our Facilities Managers?
They’re the people who look after all Virgin Media offices and technical facilities – almost 700 of them in total. As well as taking care of the buildings themselves, they’re responsible for catering, cleaning, administration, security and so on. All in all, it’s a big job.
Soak up the experience
Working alongside a senior member of the team, you’ll get exposed to a wide range of facilities management work – from conducting fire risk assessments to managing catering suppliers to organising office moves.
Supercharge your skills
The scheme helps you develop the skills and experience you need to progress into a co-ordinator or supervisor role and ultimately become a facility manager. This includes skills in:
- Decision making
- Customer service
- Contract negotiations
- Budget management
- Leadership and management of teams and projects
What we look for
Customer-focused, collaborative problem-solvers who can adapt quickly to changing circumstances. A health and safety mindset is critical, as it’s a massive part of the job. You’ll also need to be a great communicator and relationship-builder.

Apprenticeship: Facilities Manager Level 3
Duration: up to 24 months
Start date: September 2021
Location:: Reading-based (operating regionally)
Requirements: 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (level 4-9) or level 2 apprenticeship (or equivalent. Full driving licence with no more than 3 points.
Salary: £19,000 plus amazing benefits. At the halfway point of the scheme you can expect a salary increase to £22,000, and on successful completion of the scheme our apprentices typically move into roles with salaries in the region of £27,000-£29,000.
