Data Analyst Apprentice

Do you want to lead change through data analysis? Join us on our Data Analyst Apprenticeship and you can study, learn and work towards a professional qualification doing a job you love!

Drive our business through data

You’ll be placed within one of our Network Operations teams, focusing on either Governance and Finance or Operations. These teams exploit data sources to find trends and drive transformation across Virgin Media O2. They use data and automation tools to inform the wider business on performance and improve experience. Our Operations team find ways to use data that hasn’t been utilised to its max, while our Governance and Finance team draw conclusions from data and use trends to make change happen.

Build skills for the future

As an apprentice, you will look into the data we have available and find new ways we can use it to measure performance and insights. You will be using tools to create reports that enable important decisions to be made, impacting our future. We’ll teach you how to build these reports, making them clear and insightful, as well as showing you the secrets to recognising when they’re needed. Responsibilities you could take on include:

  • Where system updates mean existing reports cease to work, you’ll recreate and rebuild replacement reports from our existing portfolio
  • Automating our operations by investigating how we can remove manual tasks throughout the business
  • Publishing Business Operations information campaigns regularly
  • Identifying areas for improvements across our processes, communications, tools and reporting

What we look for

Eagerness to develop, a passion for data and motivation to make a difference. We’re looking for someone that can use their own initiative and isn’t afraid to ask questions about what we’re doing, the way we work and why it’s happening. We want our apprentices to be driven, people who don’t like to sit around waiting for work. You should be seeking out new challenges and tasks whenever possible. Other qualities we’d like to see include:

  • Ability to think of the end customer in everything they do
  • New ideas and methodologies
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively

We’re 100% committed to having a workforce that represents every part of our society, so we’re keen to hear from candidates of all backgrounds and circumstances.

What’s in it for you

We offer plenty of opportunities to progress your salary throughout the scheme. You’ll join on a starting salary of £23,000 and on successful completion of the apprenticeship final salaries start from £28,000, as well as holding a Level 4 Data Analyst qualification under your belt. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy our amazing benefits, including:

  • 25 days holiday
  • Your birthday off every year
  • Employee discounts on mobile, broadband and TV services

…and loads more!

What is involved with studying for an apprenticeship?

Your apprenticeship is made up of learning on the job, but also gaining the academic skills to put into practice in your day-to-day job. As a result, you’ll complete the apprenticeship as part of a structured learning programme alongside working in the role. The learning programme is made up of a suite of modules and milestones and you’ll be required to evidence your work against these modules via tasks and assignments. For some apprenticeships, you may also undertake additional technical qualifications, which include studying for, and taking an exam. Once you have completed your modules and milestones, you’ll then move to your End Point Assessment (EPA) which is typically made up of an interview and a project. Once you pass this stage, you will receive your apprenticeship qualification with us.
