About the role

As we enter one of the most exciting times in our history, we’re looking for a Comms Platform Delivery Manager to join our Strategic Programmes Delivery team in Digital and be a part of the new exciting Change operating model. Reporting into the Head of Strategic Programme Delivery you’ll be accountable for the coordination and alignment of the Comms Platform initiatives which deliver across both product and programme led activity across the change operating model and beyond.

Tell me more, tell me more:
As a Comms Platform Delivery Manager you’ll need to be hands-on and goal-oriented with proven experience across both agile and more traditional delivery environments. Success in this role means that you must be able to think strategically and effectively develop key processes that facilitate project planning and execution. This position requires cross-functional coordination at all levels and the ability to manage in a fast paced and ambiguous environment.

As a valued member of the team, you’ll be responsible for Program Delivery and Project Management best practice ensuring delivery management across the Comms Platform programme (teams and stakeholders) including detailed planning, timelines and execution of work to ensure delivery is transparent, predictable and sustainable, whilst providing value to our customers.

It’s important to drive the Comms Platform vision and agenda, addressing tactical delivery issues as they occur and maintain commitments whilst maintaining focus on the strategic direction.

In this role communication is key as you’ll need to select the appropriate tools for the job to manage progress against important metrics and projects status. Alongside that you’ll translate technical releases into business capabilities that can be understood by the wider Virgin Media O2 community. As a Comms Platform Delivery Manager it’s your job to confidently handle partner’s expectations as well as negotiate 3rd party suppliers and all associate communication.

The must haves:
●    Experience leading projects / programmes of work in digital environments
●    Good detail planning across teams you directly and indirectly influence
●    Accustomed to working across all levels of the business; from director level to associate colleagues
●    Ability to sell an idea to the organization and get the right buy-in with great presentation skills
●    Confident at presenting concepts and ideas to a wide range of contributors and senior decision makers
●    Strong commercial acumen and ability to structure program delivery within a framework that clearly augments the financial and operational goals of the programme
●    Experience in managing business and programme change with solid troubleshooting skills
●    Proven experience in working in a fast-paced product-led tech business
●    Confident in the use of programme management tools and techniques that are appropriate for the situation, partnered with dynamism and flexibility in order to achieve the right outcomes
●    A strong team contributor, ensuring everyone is working on the right things in the right ways
●    Proven delivery of software releases, supplier integrations and complex projects

●    An empathetic and versatile team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
●    Motivated self-starter that can work independently
●    Proven experience, knowledge and curiosity for Agile and Lean practices
●    Excellent stakeholder management, senior-level influencing and communications skills
●    Highly organised, energetic, honest, humble and open style
●    Facilitation skills across differing areas of the organisation
