We have an exciting new opportunity to join Virgin Media O2 as a Statutory & Streetworks Engineer! Within this role you’ll be acting as a national statutory and legislative advisor for our access, field, planning, civils and access build and compliance departments.
You’ll be liaising with suppliers, partners and local authorities throughout the U.K in order to ensure continual improvement in our working processes and provide an escalation point for high level performance issues.

As a Statutory & Streetworks Engineer, you’ll provide advice and documentary information to Virgin Media departments on civils standards, specifications, construction materials and operations, and work collaboratively with them to resolve problems and improve processes. You’ll suggest, develop and continually review good working practices and civils solutions for resolving future liabilities and reducing the whole life cost of operational activities.
As part of your role, you’ll work in conjunction with civils and access build teams and compliance, support meetings with local authorities in order to review current practices and to generate good working relationships. In doing so, you’ll assist in the speedy resolution of conflict between Virgin Media and authorities through requested involvement in issue problem solving.
The must haves
Proven experience in street works legislation
Considerable experience in interpreting streetworks
Proven ability to communicate at all levels of management, to articulate and negotiate on key Streetworks issues

Good interpersonal skills and good organisational skills.
The ability to develop and drive relationship building with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to positively influence the outcome of meetings.
