£55,000 - £65,000 per annum, up to 15% annual bonus and other excellent benefits.
We are looking for a data-driven commercial analytics professional that is looking for a challenging role in a fast-moving, progressive working environment.
Our commercial function acts as the architect of our revenue growth through customer value propositioning, base management, customer strategy, pricing and forecasting. The team works cross-functionally to lead process design which creates our portfolio of profit-maximising products and bundles leading to growth in operating cash flow, increases our NPS and optimises ROI.
Responsible for commercial performance, working with the sales and marketing teams on developing and delivering quarterly plans and tactical activity in the analytics space. You’ll be responsible for Virgin Media’s existing customer trading strategy and end to end execution of that strategy with the objective to optimise the value and customer experience of the existing customer base.
The core objective of this role is to deliver VM targets through identification of opportunities within trading performance across multiple channels, working closely with the relevant Commercial Manager(s) for the channel(s) to articulate and influence performance.
You will be required to work at pace and react effectively in an ever changing trading environment.
What you'll be doing
Strong understanding and influence of all trading commercial targets and ensuring there is a plan in place to meet key KPIs
Be a direct and virtual leader within commercial and the wider operational customer facing teams, ensuring that both strategic and tactical initiatives as well as key trading targets are being delivered
Analyse and model different ideas with the support of the rest of the team to feed into an overarching strategy to drive base revenues, and optimise the use of the budget
Work with the forecasting team to drive an overall reactive base performance strategy
Lead the a trading analytics team to manage and efficiently grow the portfolio of proactive and reactive tools and offers, covering in-life movements and churn
Provide analytical support for specific propositions & targeted offerings, enabling the delivery of pricing and customer segmentation changes
Work with the wider analytics function to uncover new data to improve understanding of the customer base and its impact on trading performance
Work with delivery and finance to influence base trading commercial priorities and how this drives the prioritisation of deliverables for the agent facing systems development
Own and ensure accurate in-life commercial management and optimisation of these agent facing systems to support trading activities
Lead a team to create in-depth analyses that provide real value to the trading teams
Liaise with data teams to ensure the right data is accessible, and if not to bring that information into the trading environment
Coach the trading team to undertake post-event analysis to drive continuous improvement
Essential knowledge and experience
Advanced Excel; Strong SQL skills (Netezza, SQL Server)
Ensuring we are monitoring performance on an array of metrics (churn, revenue, ARPU etc.) and
working with the rest of the base team and channels to take corrective action and deliver continued growth – reacting to key trading pressures
Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly performance. Responsible for tracking performance, identifying risks and opportunities across channels and acting appropriately, working closely with Commercial Managers (channel performance owners) to articulate these risks and opportunities and create an end-to-end view of reactive trading
Critical ad hoc commercial analysis relating to the performance of retention offers and retained revenue metrics, summarising and presenting to senior stakeholders where required
