We’re on the lookout for a Project Support Officer (PSO) to join our team here at Virgin Media. This is an ideal development opportunity for a candidate who holds a foundation level background in Project Management, who is looking for their next opportunity to grow and learn.

You will be the interface for opportunities that are part of general PMO function, Governance & Framework standards set across Project and Programmes. As the first point of contact, you’ll be the gate keeper with visibility to any prior sales orders being deployed into the wider delivery functions for VMB. With this, you’ll ensure the readiness for PM deployment, gathering and validating key documents for project teams to work with. Communication and presenting across wider delivery functions will be key, as you bring teams into conversations and awareness of future work visibility. There will be expectation setting, supporting project reviews and ensuring work flows correctly from the start of PM team engagement. The PSO role supports a number of Project and transition teams with information flowing in and out of the PMO, and seen as pivotal for communication, registering opportunities, deploying resource, supporting functional managers within the group, and keeping everyone true and honest against compliance standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Stakeholder engagement, ensuring communication between 1st line into Delivery via Sales, Business enablement and Order entry teams Ensures documents are aligned prior to allocation of resource being set
  • Set up customer folders ready for PM deployment, align project resource in agreement with managers,
  • Arrange and conduct Project reviews, support change control steps, engage with PMs, finance control / monitoring, commercial awareness and guidance into projects
  • Provide reporting as required by the PMO manager for wider stakeholder communication
  • Support reporting activity such as – Budget tracking, PM allocation, change control, lesson learnt
  • Work with the wider PMO team to support other initiatives and group activity
  • Represent PMO / Delivery on all engagement meetings, (SDR, transformation, planning etc.)
  • Engagement with other VMB areas will be required from time to time: Sales, Product, Marketing, Planning, Engineering, Networks, Presales Design, Commercial and Legal 
  • Represent PMO function with professionalism and confidence to promote its ability within the wider engaged groups

Key Experience & Skillset:

  • Strong stakeholder management, either as a supporting role or to influence and persuade
  • Ability to adapt to priorities within a fast paced business environment
  • Confident in challenging others to ensure the best possible outcome and demonstrating transparency and credibility in your approach
  • Ability to analyse logically, realise potential business impacts from reviewing documentation submissions
  • Skills or understanding how to deal with stakeholder management, negotiation and conflict management
  • Knowledge and understanding of PMO roles and responsibilities, to ensure daily interactions are smooth and efficient
