About the role

This is a brilliant opportunity to join our CTO division within Core Infrastructure Support who are multi-disciplinary team within Operations, responsible for providing a tertiary support function for the platforms within our control. You will be joining a strong team of 7 engineers who are known for their supportive nature and dedication to doing a phenomenal job!

The role will involve 1 or 2 days per week in either our Reading or Birmingham offices so ensure you are commutable to one of those locations. We do offer flexibility with hours but please note that there will be a 1 in 5 on call rota which will receive a standby allowance.

This role is subject to the candidate obtaining Full UK SC Clearance, if you are not eligible for this then unfortunately we cannot progress your application at this time.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Extensive experience in supporting carrier /enterprise grade network infrastructure, Juniper, Nokia and/or Cisco.

  • Provide both technical and task leadership within the Data Support team for junior members of the team.

  • Comfortable in a multi-vendor, multi-protocol, ISP environment.

  • In-depth understanding of underlying network fundamentals not limited to TCP/IP, Routing, Switching and the OSI model.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to adapt to technical and non-technical audiences (upto VP/MD level).

  • Certifications or suitable real world experience to cover Juniper JNCIP-SP, Nokia NRS II or Cisco CCNA/CCNP (R&S, SP, DC).

The other stuff we're looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Understanding of HFC, DOCSIS and CMTS technologies.
  • Previous experience in a support role in a Service Provider.
  • Process oriented skills for troubleshooting, problem solving and problem resolution.
