About the role

An enticing opportunity at Virgin Media O2 is available as a In Life Technical Design Authority. You will support our most sophisticated customers throughout the service lifecycle by becoming engrained within the customer environment as a trusted advisor, influencing their strategy through the design, provision and integration of solutions.

Lead the virtual teams to ensure customer expectations are met. This includes various technical customers to become principal lead to formulate comprehensive and often sophisticated customer solutions. Be accountable for the integration of in-life groundbreaking solutions and articulate the business benefits and how these translate against strategy.

Ensure all customer specific user documentation is completed, updated and stored in-line with our policies to enable effective in life management and support future exit activity if required. At the point of any outward transition, the TDA will lead the partner team, chargeable to the customer through professional services.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Good solid grasp of the implementation and support of Cisco Meraki based solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience crafting and integrating LAN, WAN and Voice infrastructures and services.
  • Experience of Information Security standards and regulatory compliance. Must be able to gain vital governmental vetting security clearance (NPPV3/SC level)
  • Must have experience within Public Sector frameworks (NSF and previous iterations)
  • Knowledge and experience of working to industry framework principles such as ITIL, SIAM, PRINCE2 and TOGAF
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and present sophisticated detailed solutions, from architecture design through decommissioning and exit services
  • Validated ability to lead architectural discussions, displaying a creative and strategic thought process. Additionally, ensuring clear commercial ownership of design elements in support of our overall commercial position.
  • Flexibility to handle extensive UK travel and overnight stays. The travelling maybe nationwide on a weekly basis.
  • A flexible approach to time management is needed, to ensure we are able to achieve customer timelines and run business pressures.
  • Ability to take sophisticated customer requirements and develop solutions utilising both VMO2 core products and services, as well as identifying where a technology partner can be best leveraged.

The other stuff we're looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Proven experience in a customer facing and solution positioning environment is crucial, including experience of internal and external senior level interaction at a technical level.
  • Education to minimum ONC level in telecoms or related accreditation is helpful.
  • Major vendor (ideally Cisco) certified to Associate level as a minimum with Professional / Expert qualifications preferred.
  • Experience of working in an operational environment, with regular access to Enterprise grade network infrastructure, including configuration management and CLI use.
  • Working experience with Security Appliances (e.g. Next Generation Firewalls)
  • A detailed knowledge of industry products and services with an in-depth understanding of supporting infrastructure and technologies.
  • A sound solid grasp of business procedure and processes.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading virtual teams, working collaboratively to deliver business outcomes.
