As a Head of Network Security Architecture, your focus will be management of UK Government customers to keep projects on track, align with future thinking, and keeping them aware of new products/services Virgin Media are working on.

You will be Involved in third line support of all team systems, analysis of complex problems and liaising with 3rd party vendors and suppliers to ensure they are aligned with latest technical roadmap and product portfolio as well as license renewals and EoL management.
A key aspect of the role is staying close to internal projects and programs that are looking to introduce new products or services that may affect the team’s existing systems, then using that knowledge to then assess the impact, cost it up and present to management and/or UK Government for cost recovery; As well as being Comfortable running cutting-edge technology experimentation.
The must haves
- Full current valid UK SC Clearance
- Professional Level networking certification such as Cisco CCNP or Juniper JNCIP – OK if lapsed, but must have held no longer than 5 years ago
- LINUX system administration
- Strong firewall knowledge including VPNs – Cisco and Juniper
- Strong switching knowledge – Cisco and Juniper
- X86 server skills
- Windows Server including Active Directory and DNS
- Basic VMware skills
- Basic SAN/Storage knowledge
Other stuff we’re looking for
- F5 Load Balancer
- Advanced VMware skills
- Scripting – BASH, Python
- Intermediate SAN/Storage knowledge
- Basic MySQL skills
