About the role

The GCP Programme Delivery Manager will be working within the Data function and will be responsible for managing the portfolio of programmes and projects related to migrating data into the cloud and leveraging the power of the cloud to support advanced data analytics and data product goals. You’ll be working in a matrix environment interfacing with colleagues across the CDO, CIO and CTO departments, as well as working with our partners and vendors. You will need to be hands-on and proactive, with the ability to bring colleagues along the journey to deliver across multiple priorities at a rapid pace, with a strong focus on ensuring strong platform foundations are established.

London (Hammersmith), Birmingham or Reading with flexible working patterns to allow home remote working.

Reporting into the GCP Programme Manager in the Strategic Programmes team in Digital Transformation, this will be a high profile role that is front and centre aligned to Virgin Media’s Digital First strategy going forward. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build themselves a profile and really make the role their own in terms of coverage and being able to add value. You'll need to be a self-starter and be able to take the initiative to keep things moving whilst also making sure information is flowing freely between key stakeholders.

As a valued member of the team, you’ll be responsible for establishing and proactively refining delivery and project management best practices and ways of working into teams beyond the discipline to develop maturity around planning, timelines and execution of work. You’ll ensure delivery is transparent, predictable and sustainable, whilst providing value our customers.  
It’s important to drive the success of the Programme vision and agenda, addressing tactical delivery issues as they occur and maintain commitments whilst maintaining focus on the strategic direction.

In this role communication is key as you’ll need to select the appropriate tools for the job to manage progress against important metrics and projects status. Alongside that you’ll translate technical releases into business capabilities that can be understood by the wider Virgin Media community. As a GCP Programme Delivery Manager it’s your job to confidently handle partner’s expectations as well as negotiate 3rd party suppliers and all associate communication.

Your profile and experience:
•    Confident at presenting concepts and ideas to a wide range of contributors and Board-level stakeholders  
•    Strong commercial acumen and ability to structure program delivery within a framework that clearly augments the financial and operational goals of the team  
•    Experience in managing business change to land new ways of working and systems  
•    Experience working alongside senior stakeholders (including board level)  
•    Ability to influence senior decision-makers across the business to adopt a functional strategy  
•    Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate well whilst doing so  
•    Good planning across teams you directly and indirectly influence  
•    Mentoring / coaching others whilst leading teams via influence and persuasion  
•    Proven experience in working for a fast-paced product-led tech business  
•    Used to working across all levels of the business; from board level to associate colleagues  
•    Confident in the use of programme management tools and techniques that are appropriate for the situation, partnered with dynamism and flexibility in order to achieve the right outcomes  
•    A strong team contributor, ensuring everyone is working on the right things in the right ways  
•    Proven delivery of software releases, supplier integrations and complex projects  
•    Proven ability to manage multiple third-party supplier relationships  
•    Experience in coaching teams in ways of working  

•    GCP specific implementation and platform delivery experience
•    Experience working with Data and/or managing data led projects
•    Experience within Telco or delivering products to Digital Channels
