What is the role?

We are seeking a passionate all round Full Stack Web Developer to support the ongoing design and development of Virgin Media’s new CTIO Demand Modelling Tool.  You will demonstrate ambitions to continually drive the best technology and software development practices (typically Agile) as well as collaboratively working with other members of the team and the wider squad to deliver the CTIO Demand Modelling roadmap.

You will support the development and delivery of the backlog, working closely with the business to define future strategy and goals.  You should have previous experience leading a team.  You will also be highly skilled technically, with a passion for creating exceptional software for clients. You'll take pride in your work, keeping up to date with the latest developments in the field of technology and will always be willing to share new ideas with the team whilst promoting Virgin Media’s brand.

So what are we looking for?

In order to be considered for this role you'll need to have the following:

  • Strong .NET development skills - C# ASP.NET MVC

  • Experience and knowledge of Angular v6

  • Good knowledge of SQL/T-SQL, JavaScript, CSS, SSIS and building ETL packages

  • Experience of Visual Studio, SSMS and TFS or Git 

We'd also ideally be looking for the following:

  • Experience of working on web based systems

  • Experience of agile development

  • Proactive with a keen desire to take ownership of projects

  • Collaborative with great communication and interpersonal skills

Some of the following would be advantageous:

  • .NET Core 3.1 or newer

  • Angular v9 or newer 

  • Kendo UI for Angular

  • Experience of unit testing and continuous integration

  • Experience of website publishing in IIS

  • Good MS Excel skills along with general Microsoft Office understanding

  • Knowledge of techniques employed in analysing, assessing and resolving complex technology requirements, problems and issues

  • Experience in a Telecoms or networking environment

  • Software modelling and/or what-if scenario analysis experience
