About the role
As the Data Protection Manager your job is to help drive a culture of privacy and data protection compliance across Virgin Media O2, and apply your expertise to help the business meet its data protection obligations in a fast paced and regulated environment!
You'll provide analysis, advice and mentorship on risk and compliance matters concerning Virgin Media O2’s day to day processing operations and transformation programmes. Taking the lead on key elements such as the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and the design and delivery of training and awareness programmes.
You'll evaluate and advise on new legislation, emerging standards and initiatives, or new developments in technology that may impact on our use of personal data. By monitoring and reporting on compliance you'll make timely recommendations to address emerging issues.
Not only that, you'll manage the relationship with the ICO, including in relation to consultation, requests for information and investigations.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Proven experience in taking care of internal and external customers, with preference for experience operating at c-suite level
- Industry recognised privacy certification: CIPP/E CIPM, CIPT, PC.pd, etc.
- Knowledge of UK data protection legislation and ICO codes of practice
- Experience of implementing privacy by design principles or privacy enhancing technologies is desirable

- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Experience advising on data protection matters concerning digital transformation, big data and analytics, Adtech and cloud environments is desirable
