About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Risk & Control Lead to manage the Credit, Risk and Fraud team. You will use your continuous improvement skills to lead and improve the day-to-day operation of the Credit team, establishing opportunities for revenue retention and growth. This role is a great mix of Risk, Compliance and Fraud all in one.  We are happy to consider experienced/Senior people looking to make the next step up in their career.

This is a pivotal role that will see you working closely with key stakeholders to drive credit risk transformation and implementation, therefore experience of extensive stakeholder management will be required to be successful in this role.  You will be managing a small and self-sufficient team of Credit Controllers dealing with the full spectrum of management tasks including appraisals, recruitment and retention and development.

You will be supporting the development of multiple Credit Risk models and ensuring their implementation, enhancing the end-to-end digital customer journey, and ensuring Fraud controls are continuously reviewed. You will have key Input into designing the end-to-end risk management frameworks, strategies, appetite, methodologies, and policies.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Understanding of credit assessment models in a business environment

  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex information. Able to make sound and timely decisions based on analysis of the relevant information and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.

  • Demonstrable Sales and Commercial awareness interpreting Performance KPIs and Root Cause Analysis to support improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to understand and mitigate the threat of risk to our organisation by proactively seeking out new ways of working and having the ability to proactively put in place action plans to mitigate or avoid risk.

  • A strong communicator with the ability to deal with multiple issues including systems, internal departments, 3rd party and/or customer related issues and work through to successful resolution.
