We are looking for a data-driven commercial analytics professional that is looking for a challenging role in a fast-moving, progressive working environment.
Our commercial function acts as the architect of our revenue growth through customer value propositioning, base management, customer strategy, pricing and forecasting. The team works cross-functionally to lead process design which creates our portfolio of profit-maximising products and bundles leading to growth in operating cash flow, increases our NPS and optimises ROI.
Responsible for supporting the Reactive Base Trading team’s need for insight and data to monitor and drive performance as well as support the design and delivery of discounting strategy. Responsible for analysing large datasets with Excel/SQL, consisting of transactional & revenue level data, working closely with Commercial Managers to drive performance of key volume and revenue metrics.
The core objective of this role is to deliver VM targets through identification of opportunities within trading performance across multiple channels, working closely with the relevant Commercial Manager(s) for the channel(s) to articulate and influence performance.
You will be required to work at pace and react effectively in an ever changing trading environment.
Essential knowledge and experience
Advanced Excel; Strong SQL skills (Netezza, SQL Server)
Ensuring we are monitoring performance on an array of metrics (churn, revenue, ARPU etc.) and
working with the rest of the base team and channels to take corrective action and deliver continued growth – reacting to key trading pressures
Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly performance. Responsible for tracking performance, identifying risks and opportunities across channels and acting appropriately, working closely with Commercial Managers (channel performance owners) to articulate these risks and opportunities and create an end-to-end view of reactive trading
Critical ad hoc commercial analysis relating to the performance of retention offers and retained revenue metrics, summarising and presenting to senior stakeholders where required
Building dashboards and datasets to track performance of Commercial & Operational change
Manage and monitor the use of closer credits and discounts
Identification of churn and discount spend across channels currently not reported working on action plan to improve performance
Support the development of commercial reporting capabilities external to Base Trading acting as a central point for the team, working with Finance, Business Intelligence and Planning & Performance Teams to understand complexity in current reporting structure and work towards complete clarity in understanding Base Trading performance
Maintenance of team offer toolkit including period audit of toolkit again relevant trading systems to ensure that expected commercial offers are flowing into Contact Centre systems
Through site visits and call listening ensure customers are having the right conversations with agents bringing insight to Commercial discounting approach
Quarterly forecast of expiring campaign volumes
Progress towards ownership of channel level performance, shadowing Commercial Managers and understanding commercial decision making to eventually developing a trading plan and undertaking governance for a channel
