About the role

If you're looking to develop your career in Planning, then have we got the role for you!

The Associate Planner role is an exciting opportunity to build the knowledge and skills you’ll need to undertake the planning and design of all Virgin Media access network elements.

You’ll get the chance to shadow more experienced planners, building your knowledge of planning our civils and fibre network along with rate cards and legislation. When you’re ready, you’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end planning of diversionary, business and new build schemes and projects, including handling customer relationships and financial accountability.

Working in a fast paced but supportive environment, this is an outstanding chance to gain some great new skills and take your Planning career to the next level!

Who we are

At Virgin Media O2 we're going All In, to remove bias and barriers for our people and our candidates. We're working hard to achieve bold ambitions, to help us better represent the diverse communities we serve across the UK. As an equal opportunities employer, we support and encourage you, to be your authentic self throughout your application journey.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • A basic knowledge of Telecommunications is needed.

  • Our customers are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll have worked in a customer facing role before, and be able to demonstrate your outstanding customer service skills.

  • IT skills and confidence using programs such as Excel are essential.

  • Previous experience and the ability to demonstrate when you’ve worked to tight deadlines.

  • Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license is required.

The other stuff we're looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Experience in a similar operational environment or networks infrastructure design, development, architecture or planning knowledge would be ideal.

  • Experience of project management techniques including planning, resource allocation, prioritisation, evaluation and collaboration.

  • Experience and confidence in representing the business in front of internal and external customers.

What's in it for you?

We know that benefits mean so much more than the 'stuff' we can give you, so we offer a wide range of support, rewards and tools - all focused on helping you to prioritise what really matters.

All work and no play just isn't our style! We're already planning our future ways of working, for when life becomes a little more normal again. We're constantly evolving our approach to enable you to find a great work life balance.

Next steps

If we feel like a place where you can belong, we'd love to learn more about you. Once you've submitted an application the next steps of the process, if successful, are likely to include a competency based interview.

When you apply, you'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you. Thanks for your patience in the meantime and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media O2 family.
