Learning & development

From bite-sized learning to lunchtime lectures, development’s a big deal at Virgin Media. It goes right back to Sir Richard’s belief in giving every employee the chance to progress – personally, professionally and as far as possible.

Learning doesn’t mean you’ll be stuck in a classroom in your downtime (unless of course you want to be). From Lunch & Learn sessions to Power Hours, we’re committed to helping you develop – whether that’s in-person, online or through e-learning.

Our online portal, means you can study whenever and wherever you like. There’s six core learning academies to help you brush up your skills and capabilities: personal, professional, service, technical, management and sales. We’re also working on a leadership academy that’ll be launching soon, so watch this space…

Each academy’s full of courses, bite-sized topics plus hints and tricks, all designed to help you improve as a person and a professional. Most are free, including the likes of PRINCE2, and you don’t need permission from your line manager. You can also apply to do professional qualifications like MBAs which we’ll pay for if it’s approved.

There’s a Learning Partner in every area of Virgin Media. So, if you’re stuck on where to look for training, they’ll give you face-to-face advice and help you find the course you need. And if they don’t currently have the resources you’re after, they’ll find them for you. Your can also be referred to our in-house Occupational Therapist, who could work out a development plan for you if you need more help.

Whether you want to continue making customers happy or have burning career ambitions, we’re here to help you achieve your goals with a development plan every six months.
