And although we don’t deal with customers directly, we play a very important role in keeping them happy. Here are just a few of our corporate teams:

• Legal

  If anyone here needs commercial legal advice on any aspect of our business, we’re the people they turn to. We get involved in all kinds of projects to make sure we meet our responsibilities and legal requirements. It’s varied. It’s hard work. But as you’d expect, it’s more relaxed than most legal practices.

• Finance

  Looking after the pounds and pennies is vital to any business. So, we support all of our teams and make sure they keep to their financial targets. This involves all kinds of stuff, from managing payroll, billing customers and paying suppliers to reporting on the company’s accounts.

• People Team

  Most people call this HR or Human Resources. But that’s not our style. We like to focus on people. After all, they are the most important part of our business. We work with all teams to make sure they’ve got the right people with the right skills. And we look after recruitment. We hope you like our website by the way. We also provide some of the best training around to keep our people ahead of the game.

• Health & Safety

  Our business is very varied. We work in offices, stores, out in the field, in customer homes and even out in the street, putting down cables. Our H&S team keeps us all working safely and their advice makes sure we comply with all the legal stuff.

• Compliance

  It’s our job to analyse the implications of relevant initiatives from key regulatory bodies in UK and Europe. We negotiate, lobby and respond to them to achieve the best outcome for our commercial interests. Serious stuff. But like all teams at Virgin Media, we like to have a bit of fun and do things with a smile on our face.

• Group Procurement

  Getting the right quality at the best price. Whether it’s paper clips or film clips, we make sure everybody here buys goods and services favourably.
