We’re challenging our competitors with the best services and the fastest speeds. To do this we need to stay ahead of the curve which is why we’re offering you a fantastic opportunity to join our 2018 Apprenticeship scheme as a Superhero! (Also known as a Civil Engineering Apprentice). There will be lots of support along the way, and you’ll be able to learn what makes our network so ‘red hot’ from the experts in your own team.

What is the job?

With the help of your scheme mentor and other colleagues, we will be turning you in to a super spark showing you the ropes on how to become a health & safety advocate, providing expertise in design, technical specifications and best practice for ground works. Whilst you are becoming the ‘go to person’ - you will be taught how to mediate between our Partners, Planning and Activation Field Engineers, on a wide range of matters.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a key role at the forefront of Virgin Media’s lightning force. With coaching along the way you will develop towards being the main support network for our grounds work staff, supervising & coordinating a range of build works & projects on sites.

You will gain knowledge and practical experience of Civils operations plus a sound understanding of associated street works and communications industry legislation such as NRSWA, Communications Act, Health & Safety Regulations and others as appropriate.

So, what do we need from you?

Passion and determination is important - you’ll need to work hard and see the course through. An interest in build works and passion for health and safety is key along with a creative and curious approach. You will need to have the ability to work on your own initiative and also work as team member. Not forgetting that attention to detail is vital!

Qualification wise, we’d like you to have the following:

Full driving license required
