This is an exciting time to join the Virgin Media People team as a Business Partner. The People team are responsible for all services supporting the Virgin Media People agenda, policy and strategy. Business Partnering roles provide both the strategic and operational HR interface with the business, driving people engagement, leading and supporting the people strategy and bringing to life the Virgin HR vision.
Role Purpose
* Accountable for partnering with business stakeholders and the Head of People to understand and determine the appropriate people interventions that support business strategy, driving increased business performance.
* Partners with Centres of Excellence to shape solutions, through to full implementation in line with our commercial strategy.
* Works with the Head of People to ensure divisional alignment of people plans.
Key Accountabilities
* Supports leaders and managers facilitating the delivery of organisational projects and divisional people initiatives, including cyclical HR activity such as pay review
* Helps to drive improvements in business performance through the introducing a behavioural capability framework that sets out behavioural expectations to provide a transparent and accessible way for our people to understand the core behaviours required to perform.
* And crucially, behaviours that are targeted by both Level & Role.
* To utilise experience in both ER and Change projects to help deliver on transformational projects into various lines of business, which includes a review of variable pay and reward, shift and operating hours, organisational design and development and to travel to different Centres for implementation and overall stakeholder management .
* Demonstrating commitment to a strong relationship with our people through our leaders and Voice forums aligning to our Employee Relations strategy.
* Supports transformational activity through strong change management approach ensuring the way that People change is delivered, is consistent with our brand values and cultural principles.
* Analyses MI to determine areas requiring action and recommends proactive solutions on such areas as attrition, attendance management, training needs, performance management, reward and recognition, employee engagement, resourcing and benchmarking for your client group with guidance from the Head of People to ensure divisional alignment and monitoring successes & ROI
Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills
* Previous experience of delivering a proactive HR service in a fast paced, progressive HR environment.
* Sound understanding of People policies and procedures, best practice and current thinking regarding effective and commercially sound employment practises.
* Previous experience of managing significant change and transformation projects, ideally in relation to shift review and operating hours
* Highly skilled at building relationships with key business partners
* Strong communication with a proven track record of being able to influence and negotiate at all levels.
* Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills
* Commitment to the goals and the Virgin Media brand.
* A commercial focus, extremely credible and able to operate at a strategic and operational level and influence senior management
* Previous experience in a generalist role at a management level in a commercial environment
* Ideally, fully CIPD Qualified (or equivalent business qualification) with experience
* Broad generalist and Employee Relations background
* A team player with the ability to motivate and work alongside others and share best practice with proven experience of managing high quality, results focused, people teams
* Strong project management skills gained through formal qualifications and / or participation in significant change across a large organisation
