This role has been created in order to lead the effective delivery of Virgin Media credit policy for residential and mobile, in order to deliver maximum commercial success balancing sales channel growth with credit risk and ensuring it aligns with the overall Virgin Media strategy.

Principal responsibilities
* Leads the Credit Policy team responsible for Cable, Mobile and Freestyle Credit Policies, ensuring the company fulfils its regulatory lending requirements alongside a balanced approach to sales growth by channel/product/credit risk in respect of GAU and new product launches to ensure that the company is competitive in the market place
* Recommends the qualifying criteria for customer acceptance, reports performance to HODs and directors, and amends criteria as required relevant approval process is adhered to
* Collaborates with business heads/project leads, assessing and advising on operational and credit risk impact of BAU, project, compliance, and regulatory matters.
* Builds a strong understanding of the sales channel environment to provide context to trends and movements and any future impacts as a result of operational initiative/plans
* Manages acquisition bad debt and the forecasting and budgeting of the credit bureau spend by working closely with line manager, to agree plans, initiatives and proposals, ensuring all credit policy activities are capture in the overall bad debt forecasts/budgets
* Owns business relationships with 3rd party credit bureaus to ensure performance targets are met and new opportunities assessed
* Management of key SOX controls and compliance with all relevant regulations and compliance controls
* Acts as the primary liaison in the business, offering strategic guidance for the management of credit risk for new and existing Virgin Media customers

What we’re ideally looking for
* Ability to influence and build productive, professional relationships and partnerships across the business with key stakeholders tailoring communication style to the audience
* Proven experience of leading teams in Credit and/or Commercial environment preferably in Telecommunications , but other business verticals considered e.g. financial services, utilities
* A strong desire for continuous improvement and the ability to implement initiatives to realise goals
* Ability to manage to tight deadlines across multiple priorities whilst ensuring the team remain engaged and motivated
* Advanced use of Microsoft Office Applications & Windows environments

* Technical ability to guide/instruct team through SQL, Netezza and SAS data extraction and database management a strong advantage
