The role

Responsible for driving the development and implementation of a consolidated BI strategy, you’ll be passionate about information governance and the value it brings. You’re focus will be to ensure that Virgin Media has well-designed metrics in place to understand performance and underlying drivers. You’ll challenge our existing metrics and be pivotal in evolving new ones, making recommendations direct to the very people that make our biggest business decisions.

You’ll scrutinise the data we produce, questioning methods and processes to help our company ensure that we use information in the right way, to make good things happen.

Alongside your responsibility for KPI development, you’ll also manage and communicate the BI capital expenditure budget up to CEO level, identifying opportunities to drive Groups BI forwards, always balancing the commercials to ensure that we’re investing in the right tools.

Whilst you will not be responsible for extracting the data, you will have strong Microsoft skills and will be an expert in the field of reporting and business intelligence. You’ll have the ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets, and are solution driven. As this is a highly visible role within Virgin Media working with various divisions and our Liberty Global colleagues, an ability to build trusted and lasting relationships is a must. You’ll have strong interpersonal skills and an open communication style which is pivotal to relationship building and effective stakeholder management.

* Proven experience in a large organisation driving the medium to long term information strategy, and selling this in to key stakeholders
* Financially and commercially astute, seeking opportunities for BI development while understanding risks
* Demonstrable experience of a transforming insight function, supporting creation of a step change in performance, delivery, accuracy and quality
* Well versed in company financials, comfortable discussing how operational performance and information quality is impacting financial performance across the P&L
