Software development manager


Location: Hemel Hempstead


We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Manager to join our WiFi team in Hemel Hempstead! Our engineering team are currently in a time of expansion, and are looking for an all-round development manager. The role will suit someone who likes to play with technology, as well as mentoring and leading junior developers.

In this role you’ll manage the development team, being responsible for the prioritisation of the work stack and mentoring and coaching junior developers. You’ll also be involved in a wide variety of activities such as low level design and code for new applications and platforms, software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting, and carrying out in depth technical diagnostics to complex technical issues.

So what are we looking for?

*Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or significant relevant work experience
*Expertise in HTML, CSS & JavaScript, PHP,
*Experience in MYSQL, AWS and GCP based platforms, API
*Experience with software troubleshooting
*Experience in Linux, Apache, nginx
*Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
*Ability to meet deadlines whilst staying focussed and keeping close attention to detail
*Experience with Scrum and Kanban methodologies
*Experience of team leadership
