Learning Designer

As we enter one of the most exciting times in our history we are seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Lightning force as we continue to expand our network across the UK.

We are delivering the biggest investment in the UK’s digital infrastructure for over a decade, with a £3bn programme to extend our ultrafast broadband network and brilliant Virgin TV to millions of homes and businesses. This role will be creating high quality new learning programmes for the Virgin Media Learning Academy, being the designer of the blended, engaging and interactive learning programmes to address specific business needs.

Working with T&D colleagues and client stakeholders/SMEs to ensure suitable evaluation metrics are defined at design stage and are measurable in terms of quantitative and qualitative data of all programmes, whilst reviewing/editing existing content.

Other duties of this role will include:
*Know and utilise industry standard Instructional Design methodology in scoping.
Attend and contribute to client design and scoping meetings with senior team members.
Plan internal reviews and subsequent updates of work prior to delivery.
*Use appropriate writing styles to make content easy to understand for the target audience and produce well written audio and video scripts to produce high quality course assets.
*Act as an advocate for learning and development across the business. Identify and resolve ethical and legal implications of design in the workplace.
*Identify and describe target population characteristics based on previous solutions and
evaluation Analyse the characteristics of the environment.
*Analyse the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their use in an
instructional environment.

Are you right for the role? Required Qualifications/Experience:

*Able to build strong stakeholder relationships
*Experience of Learning Technology use and/or knowledge.
*Understand the different language styles that appeal to various target markets.
*Instructional design experience in the creation of both online and blended Learning

*Qualifications in instructional/curriculum design, particularly for online delivery or a related area
and/or Degree educated or equivalent.
*Video production experience desirable
*Strong analytical skills
*Project Management lifecycle awareness and excellent planning and organising skills
*Experience/Knowledge of authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
*Familiarity with SCORM standards and specifications.
