This is an exciting time to join Virgin Media as a Senior Manager for Platform Optimisation and Support within our Technology & Innovation division. You will be responsible for managing the activities of the Platform Optimisation and Support engineering team, co-ordinationg and providing guidance to ensure delivery of a range of projects.

What is involved in this role?
* You will be reporting to the Director of Access Platform Engineering and will be responsible for a team of 5 who are based both in the UK and overseas. The focus will be on in-life engineering, integration and support of the Access Platform across all our territories with the primary goal of maintaining, and improving, the performance of our network.
* This specific team is responsible for implementing the designs, ensuring that solutions are compatible with the requirements of various countries across Europe. As such this role will act as the Country Liaison and provide all support and training as is required.
* You will ensure that performance is optimised across the network for both capacity performance and efficiency.
* Engage with stakeholders, both internally and externally, managing expectations regarding project delivery and network status.
* Ensure all Virgin Media Business Key Performance Indicators are met
* Ultimately you all be responsible for the networks continual performance, highlighting and on-going issues as necessary, during this exciting time at Virgin Media.

Is this the job for you?
* You will have a technical background in telecommunications with both a theoretical and practical knowledge of access technologies.
* Strong communication skills- as this is an international role you will be required to work with people based both in the UK and mainland Europe.
* Previous experience working in a similar or Operations Manager role which had international responsibilities either in Europe or further afield. It would also be beneficial you have experience managing a remote team.
* You will have experience working, and implementing solutions, that adhere to a variety of regulatory standards and best practices (eg. ISO, NGN, ITIL etc.)
