Our commercial department acts as the architect of our revenue growth through customer value propositioning, base management, customer strategy, pricing and forecasting. The team works cross-functionally to lead process design which creates our portfolio of profit-maximising products and bundles leading to growth in operating cash flow, increases our NPS and optimises ROI.

Role purpose

The role sits as the leader of a specialist team responsible for defining Virgin Media’s customer value proposition strategy across our digital entertainment platforms to ensure a pipeline of value for customers and drive value growth and commercial impact.

You will lead, drive and enable the delivery of Virgin Media’s consumer customer value proposition strategy to ensure pipeline of value for VM’s customers and drive value growth and commercial impact, as well as help develop a 3 year CVP plan and effective launches through cross-functional planning.

You’ll work across the business with a wide range of teams including product, development and technical functions to guide decision making on features, functions and GTM strategies.

Principle responsibilities and areas of focus
* Ownership of the digital entertainment customer value position (CVP) strategy and plan
* Definition of the end to end CVP strategy, developing relevant and compelling value propositions. Establish and lead cross functional teams to develop clear understanding of commercial target; product/ journey & service enablers and expression
* Leadership of a team of other commercial
* Develops and ensure clear communication of VM’s CVP plan across Consumer business. Ensure robust planning in place for specific CVP launches and roadmap
* Develop insights into customer needs, to drive the Virgin Media customer-centric focus that challenge existing ways of managing value
* Use consumer & market trends & assess competitor set to identify business implications. Ie. threats and opportunities compared to current Virgin Media proposition offering
* Define new innovations/concepts responsible for filling the proposition pipeline and influence the work of others to ensure correct prioritisation
* Form business case; prioritizing investment across product and journey enablers on basis of customer and commercial value impact. Own customer benefits of investment cases for IC/CIC governance
* Key interface with LG CVP team, establishing two way dialogue to determine best practice; collaborative development and alignment

* Demonstrates knowledge and experience at a senior level, contributing to the development and implementation of a strategy which drives business objectives
* Ability to influence and build productive relationships at all levels of organisation across the business and successfully manage this wide group of stakeholders
* Proven ability to manage upwards at Consumer Leadership Team and Board / C-Suite level
* An excellent understanding of the market dynamics and commercial levers of business from a marketing, journey; acquisition and customer base point of view
* A strong desire for continuous improvement and the ability to implement initiatives to realise goals
* Displays strong leadership skills with experience of building and leading high quality, results focussed teams and manager high levels of structural and cultural change when appropriate. Has ability to lead matrix teams
* Ability to bring multi skill stakeholder group together, galvanise towards a common goal and inject pace into activity
* Is resilient and adaptable. Able to work well under pressure and thrive on being given challenges and responsibility
