This is an exciting time to join Virgin Media as a Digital UX Designer. Reporting to the Digital Creative Lead you’ll be part of the Digital Experience Team helping enhance and develop our customer digital touchpoints and ecosystem, creating meaningful, persuasive, and beautiful experiences that deliver measurable customer and business value over the short, medium and long term.

The Digital Experience department is made up of 6 teams (Trading / CRO / Customer / Apps / Global Experience / Creative / Lightning).

This role can be based either in our Birmingham or Manchester offices.

Job Purpose:

- Applying a User-Centred Design approach
- Covering the entire creative process, from concept to the final graphical assets
- Managing stakeholders and documenting progress
- Ensuring that both customer and business needs are met

Principle Responsibilities:

- Creation of deliverables such as: flowcharts, wireframes and prototypes, style guides, usability reports and presentations
- Manage user research and user testing
- Promote a Mobile First approach
- Create and deliver outstanding visual designs
- Have an understanding of how your work meets user needs while at the same time ensuring creativity is at the heart of what you deliver
- Work in a team environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration with Copywriters, Insight Specialists, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Producers, Sales, Brand & Marketing
- Design concepts for new pages and journeys
- Adhere to the brand guidelines, ensuring that your designs conform to guidelines at all times

Skills and competencies:

- Design thinker and problem solver
- Aptitude and experience of lean UX techniques, e.g., sketching, workshops, paper prototypes
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Strong interest in Information Architecture, User Interface design and Interaction design
- Delivery focused with a proven track record
- Experience in the Online environment and e-commerce
- Good in UI and Wireframe tools, such as: Sketch, Axure and Photoshop
- Good understanding of usability testing
- Interest in analytical information for online measurement
- Good understanding of A/B and multivariate testing
- Understanding of interface technologies that affect interface design and functionality (HTML, CSS, JavaScript etc.)

Required Qualifications/Experience:

- Degree in a relevant field preferred
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role
