This role has been created as part of the significant investment Virgin Media is making into its data, CRM and analytics function in 2018, where we are dramatically expanding the team in order to further tap in to our extensive, rich datasets.

Our campaign operations department is responsible for the planning and delivery of DM, email and outbound campaigns, as well as for digital targeting, personalisation and to develop new and improved CRM systems and processes.

Role purpose

You’ll manage a portfolio of data operations and provides design and delivery of data processing solutions in support of a business, operational or functional area. This role focuses on those that underpin marketing campaigns (prospect & customer) and actions which require the application of customer and prospect data. Quality, relevance, compliance and timeliness of deliverables need to align with the agreed data brief.

As a senior role within the campaign delivery team, this role also manages the overall technical campaign delivery stakeholder-relationships for at least one complete internal client area/department. Examples would be Acquisition or Customer Marketing.

Principle responsibilities
* For the agreed business area, and delivery team, this role manages the technical delivery of campaign data for: email, SMS, DM, outbound calling, social media targeting and contact centre activity
* The campaigns will include those of high strategic importance e.g. price rises, and product launches.
* Responsible for the delivery of campaign outputs from their team and their quality, accuracy, timeliness, suitability for business purpose and compliance. Results to be tracked against agreed KPIs.
* Works with client stakeholders to define requirements, negotiate priorities and communicate results, including frequent and proactive interactions and engagement with related teams and agencies.
* Develops and maintains a deep understanding of the roles and dependencies on other teams and agencies in the end to end process for campaigns, including IT, partner agencies, Legal, DP, Security, Finance. Uses this knowledge in taking ideas from concept to test and later rollout, supported by the Marketing Data and Scheduling and Marketing Phasing teams within Insight Ops.
* Plans and maintains the detailed operational work stack for projects and data processes within the area, advising on methodology to deliver objectives and within timescales. Coordinates with the Scheduling and Marketing phasing team (as with other team leads) within Insight Ops for a consolidated departmental delivery view.
* Applies comprehensive specialist knowledge of concepts, techniques and procedures of data processing to the completion of complex assignments. Actively updates this knowledge through a mixture of training, research, professional networks

* Maintains and updates deep technical knowledge of softwares used and available within team (primarily Adobe Campaign), and those with which they need to coordinate e.g. Pega, Salesforce, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Audience Manager etc. Use this knowledge to influence the technical roadmap, make recommendations and assess feasibilities of proposals.

* Interest in and understanding of teams/agencies/departments involved in end to end delivery, and to use that knowledge to make sound, business-led judgements reflecting the needs of the wider business.
* Consulting skills are developed to a strong/advanced level.
* Strong interest and experience in team building, development and management.
* Ability to generate pragmatic solutions fit for business purpose
* Subject matter expert in direct marketing processes and data-driven decisioning processes, extending into areas including Digital/contact centre systems/email production and send
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills, comfortable at working at all levels
* Summarises and presents technical work/outputs in suitable style(s) for wide-ranging business stakeholders
* Comfortable with operational detail surrounding data sets/campaign tool/selection criteria, yet also understands the ‘big picture’/ strategic direction of VM
* Good knowledge of data processing compliance and operational integrity processes
* Great organisational and planning skills in marketing project delivery management, able to prioritise tasks efficiently and deal with multiple requirements accurately

Technical skills we’re looking for
* Good knowledge of database marketing and appropriate use of data, including, regulatory and legal issues
* Project management qualification or industry recognised accreditation is desirable (e.g. IDM, CIM) and/or relevant degree.
* Good business user knowledge of marketing process management and automation tools (Adobe Campaign, Unica) including current/recent hands-on usage. Use and/or management of the tools to send emails and share selections with Digital and social media platforms preferred. Working knowledge of industry-recognised CRM tools including Pega and Salesforce.
* 5+ years proven experience in managing and leading successful client relationships and project teams
