This is an exciting time to join Virgin Media as an Apprentice Assessor as we are increasing the number and types of apprenticeships on offer, so you will get some great exposure to assessing a truly wide and growing range of vocational qualifications.
With the overall focus of supporting and assessing people across the organisation working towards obtaining vocational qualifications, your duties will be wide ranging, but ultimately you will be responsible for:

* Observing and assessing apprentices, ensuring they are meeting the right standard.
* Working closely with L&D, Coaches, and Apprentice Line Managers to ensure the apprentice is monitored and developed according to the overall scheme plan.
* Providing constructive feedback on training delivery to ensure it is fit for purpose for the apprenticeship.
* Interviewing apprentices and examining their portfolios of evidence.
* Providing feedback and offering advice.
* Signing off the award when all requirements are met.
* Keeping records of apprentice progress using SmartAssessor to its full potential.
* Attending meetings with other assessors for internal verification.
* Providing regular updates to the Apprentice Programme Quality Manager and Apprenticeship Programme Manager on apprentice progression and standards.
* Identifying opportunities for programme improvement.
* Maintaining continuous professional competence (CPD) as required by awarding bodies.
Everyone in our L&D function has a proactive approach to work, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to deliver to deadlines. If you join us as an Apprentice Assessor we would want you to have:

* Proven experience assessing apprentices (either from agency/consultancy or as part of an employer provider scheme).
* An assessor qualification, such as CAVA.
* Experience in using SmartAssessor or equivalent to log evidence of an apprenticeship.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven experience observing and giving feedback to drive performance.
* A strong delivery focus.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* A good consensus builder & team player.
* Customer oriented mentality.
* The ability to take initiative.
